Your gift to AHIF helps us provide the following services:
  • Recreational support groups for survivors and their families to spend time socializing and learning about available resources. 
  • Respite Care for caregivers to give them a much needed break from the 24/7 care they provide.
  • A week-long camp for survivors of traumatic brain injury at Camp ASCCA. 
  • Resource Coordination for clients and their caregiver network to identify local resources, secure needed medical equipment and home modifications, financial management and advocacy on behalf of the client.

Your gift helps survivors like Kearria and Chanteal...

Kearria was injured at age 20 when she was shot as an innocent bystander while on spring break in Panama City.  Chanteal was injured at age 17 in a motor vehicle accident.  As AHIF worked with both through their recovery, they both expressed a loneliness and isolation common with many of our survivors. 

Two AHIF staff, one in north Alabama and one in Mobile, shared with one another and AHIF was able to put Kearria and Chanteal in touch with one another, first through technology, and then in a face to face meeting.  Their friendship is helping both cope with their new reality, and encourage one another through their continued long road to recovery!
