Caregiver Programs and Resources
Over our 40+ years of serving TBI survivors, AHIF recognizes that a traumatic brain injury affects the survivor, and also the lives of the family and friends who support the survivor on their road to recovery. We are pleased to offer an array of programs and resources to support caregivers, and the essential role they play in the recovery process.

Caregiver Support Groups
AHIF recognizes the importance of providing an opportunity for caregivers of traumatic brain injury survivors to interact with one another. Research shows the tremendous impact such peer interaction can have, and how it can help caregivers feel justified in emotions they struggle with, gain insight into strategies for caring for their loved one, and more than anything just help them not feel alone.
AHIF also recognizes that support groups need to remain small, to encourage sharing from all participants and also to ensure that trust can be built within the group. AHIF will utilize "Breakout Rooms" through Zoom to divide caregivers into groups of 3-4 to ensure that all have an opportunity to share and discuss, and not get lost in a large group of participants.
