I don't think I ever had a true appreciation for a Klondike Bar as a kid. For some reason, it was always that dessert that my mom ate, but one I never seemed to want a part of. I don't know if it was because it wasn't on a stick, was simple in that it was just a shell with ice cream inside, or what...but that was just the way it was. There was the annoying song about "What would you doooooo for a Klondike Bar?" but even that wasn't the reason. I think that it was because it was surprisingly messy. The chocolate shell started melting in your hand, and after the first bite started collapsing and pieces of chocolate fell off, allowing vanilla ice cream to start melting as well. But, I can say that, today, they are actually quite good. And, because the shell is think and thus it is mainly just vanilla ice cream, surprisingly successful in causing a brain freeze!
